Poem of the Week

LOST AND FOUND

Faintly passing out one day
I hit my head upon the clay

It was a stoke of rare luck
That I avoided being squashed by a passing truck

I arose in glee and gasped a sigh of relief
Only to be robbed by a passing thief.

I chased him high and I chased him low
But wherever I went he did not show.

And then I laughed aloud as I realised what he had took
A doggy bag all filled with muck.

Oh dear i thought where is my dog ?
as the the bang on the head had wiped my log

I turned the street corners and searched the crannies
And even asked two passing grannies.

And then it hit me in a flash
My memory had obviously been too rash

I realised i had lost my cash as I darted around
In such a dash.

But every story has a silver lining
And the sound of "woof" ended my pining

There she was my little doggy
All wet and cold and a little soggy

A gift did drop from mouth to Paw
My good little doggy had found my dough.

Poem of The Week

TAKE AWAY THE MEANING OF LIFE

I sit within a crowded room with materialistic choices of future doom
Take my hand and take me where the room is empty and there are no cares.
Without a meaning to everything I will once more begin to sing
Oh fly away with dainty wings these choices life does but bring.

There is no meaning in what we pursue and what we all so willingly do
All our ideas on what is right, what is good and why we must fight
Give us a crutch to steady our plight.

Must we ensue mans unwritten path , morals, religion , work and play
Prescribed to give cause as we live each day
Or is there another way ?

If purpose dies and nobody cares and we realise its all in vain
We may become incredibly sane and realise what in life is fact
and what is just life’s man made act

So without meaning in our life we’ll wander forth and feel whats real
And those who failed will be revealed and their wants will be so easily healed
Expectation will no longer be in this future world I long to see.

Poem of the week

ENGLAND'S WAY

Rolling hills and city blocks
church bells and canal locks.

Football chants and rugby roar
terraced house and creaking floor

Made in wood, pot and steel
spinning top and water wheel

Trees of oak and fields of gold
mossy paths and smell of mold

People young and weather cold
heads with hats and men gone bald

Pubs and clubs, straight and gay
those who hope and those who pray

This my friend is England's way.

Book Reviews

Sonia

This author, has a great imagination & life experiences, that you can feel when reading these poems. U can sense a very charismatic guy! U can captivate yourself in his book, from start to finish. There is abit of everyone in at least one of his poems, he has written. It even inspires U to start thinking of or taking up writing abit of poetry yourself, even if u don,t already do so. A great cover! A great book!!

Poem of the week

SAMHAIN A NEW DAWN

On the barren misty hill i see your naked slender frame
dancing round the raging flame

Ancient lore repeats its tale as banshee virgins tell and wail of lightened days beginning to fail

Into dark times this feast will lead
to fallen leaves of bygone years nourishing the ground
on which you feed

This Gaelic Samhain November dawn is where i see you dressed to warn
of shortened days and little growth

In future days the chilling north winds will hide the land
in whitened snow
but through its melting a new spring life will begin to grow

So on this night cry out in joy as cleansing is complete

life now stirs another day
beneath your Goddess feet

Poem of the week

THIS HALLOWEEN

This Halloween is set to churn
the hollow souls in hell that burn

Weather worn and wicked wash
masked hidden evil lush

Senseless sizzle of witchy air
as mixing spells are made to scare

Tricksters plot in grime and grott
as they knock on doors and take their lot

Spirits dance in shadows
seeking to improve their perpetual plight
on this October All Hallows night.
